What We're Doing Now
We turned seven years old on January 18, 2010
Small Groups
We believe that the church is not the building, or the Sunday service; the church is the group of people God has drawn together to share in one another's lives as we follow Him. To help build these relationships, we meet during the week in small groups. These groups provide a place for:
- meeting new friends & catching up with old ones
- worshiping through music
- studying the Bible
- praying with and for one another
Women's Groups
Women
are equal partners with men in the kingdom and in ministry here at the
Vineyard. We have several small groups led by and for women, and we
have a women's brunch each year.

Leader: Christine Ross (724) 746-1117
Host: Debbie Shaw

Men's Groups
The men of the Vineyard meet on Friday mornings for a small group (with bagels!), and often go out for breakfast on the fourth Friday of the month.

Kids' Ministry
Children
are very important to God, His kingdom, and our church. We provide
nursery care during Sunday morning services for infants and kids'
ministry classes for other children. We also invite our junior-high and
high-school-aged teens to join us for youth group. Kids' classes and
youth group meet during the sermon; nursery care is provided throughout
the Sunday service.
VCOW Chow
We share a potluck meal together after church, usually once every six weeks - we call it "VCOW Chow." These meals and other events help us to stay connected.
Celebrate Recovery
At the Vineyard, we desire to support our brothers and sisters
who are in recovery, whether from substance addiction, food addiction,
or codependency. Celebrate Recovery participants seek God's healing in
conjunction with the Twelve Steps; meetings typically include worship,
a "lead" or testimony, and a time of sharing and prayer. Celebrate
Recovery meets on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Angel Food Ministry
If you eat, you can participate! Angel Food Ministry provides groceries each month at a very low cost of $30 for a large box of food. There are no income cut-offs for this program. Free boxes may also be available to individuals and families in need.
Each month, participants place their orders in person or by mail and pick up their food at the church on a designated Saturday. For information on how to place an order, where to pick up your food, and what's on this month's menu, click here.
Building Campaign
In November of 2006, we launched "Bringing the Heart of Jesus to the Heart of Washington," a campaign through which we as a church would dedicate ourselves to our mission as an inner-city church. Through discipleship and the giving of time, energy, and finances, we are working to complete renovations on our building at 100 N. Main St. Our commitment to this building and location represents our commitment to the City of Washington and its people.
We are currently enlarging the usable space in the building by expanding our children's classrooms and meeting spaces into a downstairs area. Through the efforts of many volunteers, we have already made some significant progress in transforming this once-unfinished space. We continue to have work days on Saturday mornings, and we continue to fulfill our pledges of financial giving toward this goal.
